Christopher Moessner, an intern in CPJ’s advocacy and communications department, has worked as an editor in Beirut. As a freelance writer, he has contributed to various publications in the U.S. and Middle East.

Pedro Nikken is a prominent Venezuelan lawyer, president of the International Commission of Jurists, and former president of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.

Gene Roberts is a former chairman of CPJ and is the chairman of the Journalist Assistance Committee of CPJ’s board. He has taught at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland since 1991, following 18 years as the executive editor of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Peter Nkanga, an independent bilingual investigative journalist based in Abuja, Nigeria, is CPJ’s West Africa representative. Peter specializes in human rights and advocacy reporting.

Khalid Ibrahim is deputy director of the Gulf Centre for Human Rights, which defends press freedom and other human rights in Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.

Tom Heinemann and his wife and camerawoman, Lotte la Cour, are independent journalists and TV producers based in Copenhagen. They have produced several award-winning documentaries on global issues, like “The Micro Debt”, “The Bitter Taste of Tea,” and others.

Sándor Orbán is program director at the Budapest-based South East European Network for Professionalization of Media, an association of 15 regional media organizations, which promotes excellence in journalism through training, information exchange, media policy research, and advocacy.

Fahem Boukadous is the director of the Tunisia Centre for Freedom of the Press.

Kristin Jones, a consultant to CPJ’s Asia program, is an independent investigative reporter. In 2011, she was part of a team that won a Robert F.
