On February 5, 2025, Israeli forces arrested Palestinian photojournalist Yaseen Abu Lafah, a photographer for Quds Feed Network, from his home in Nablus, in the northern Israeli-occupied West Bank.
His wife Bayan Abu Lafah told CPJ that Israeli soldiers stormed their home, breaking down the door, and remained inside the house for about an hour before taking him into Howara military camp. She also told CPJ that her husband was later transferred to Megiddo Prison, where he was held for approximately six weeks, before being moved to Ganot Prison. From the first day of his arrest, Israeli authorities issued a six-month administrative detention order against him.
In August 2025, Israeli authorities renewed his administrative detention for an additional six months. On February 5, 2026, the order was renewed again for a further six months, extending his detention without charge.
CPJ emailed the Israeli Prison Service but did not receive a response at the time of publication.
