Wang, editor of Jingji Xue Zhoubao (Economics Weekly), was found guilty of “conspiring to subvert the government” and “carrying out counter-revolutionary propaganda.” He was sentenced to 13 years in prison on February 12, 1991. His wife, Hou Xiaotian, has accused prison authorities of medical negligence in their treatment of her husband.
