Mongkol, editor-in-chief of the Khmer-language biweekly Antarakum, died one day after police found him lying unconscious on a Phnom Penh thoroughfare. Prior to Mongkol’s death, Antarakum had carried a number of articles charging government and military officials with corruption, and its offices had been the target of a grenade attack in March.
