A suicide bomber killed Imran, a cameraman trainee for
Express TV, and Tahir Awan, a freelance reporter for the local Eitedal and Apna
Akhbar newspapers, in North West Frontier Province, now known as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,
according to the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists and local news reports.
The fatal explosion occurred in the wake of a smaller blast
and apparently was intended to target the early responders to the scene, the
reports said. At least five other people were killed and several more injured,
including police and civilians, in the early evening attack, according to the
news reports.
