Aktuğ, a reporter for the left-wing monthly Devrimci Gençlik, was taken into custody on April 18, 1993, from the magazine’s Fatih office in Istanbul. He was charged with membership in an illegal organization and arrested. His trial continues at the Istanbul State Security Court.
