Turgut, a reporter for the pro-Kurdish daily Demokrasi, was detained by police during a raid on the newspaper’s office in Elazig. She was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison under Article 169 of the Penal Code. Turgut is serving her sentence in Nevsehir Prison.
