Mohamed Jamal Sobhi Al-Thalathini, a Palestinian media worker who worked for the Hamas-affiliated Al-Quds Al-Youm broadcaster, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on his home, in the south of Gaza City on January 11, 2024.
Al-Thalathini was previously counted as a journalist in CPJ’s database; his status was changed to media worker after a rigorous verification process in June 2026 that included desk research and talking to two credible sources from his outlet who confirmed that he was an administrative employee for the public relations office in the outlet. Prior to 2022, Al-Thalathini was a freelance photographer.
