Mawaheb Ibrahim, a reporter at Nyala state Radio Station, was arrested by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on February 28, 2026, in Sudan’s Nyala, South Darfur, along with several women, including journalists, and transferred to Korea prison in the city.
Ibrahim has been detained for more than a week without any explanation for the reasons for her arrest, formal charges, or being brought before a court, according to news reports and a local journalist who is following the case, speaking to CPJ on the condition of anonymity, citing the fear of reprisal.
CPJ contacted the RSF through its website to request comment on Abdulrahman’s detention but did not receive a response.
