The editor-in-chief of The Nairobi Law Monthly, Imanyara was destained in March 1991 and charged with “falsely and maliciously publishing a seditious publication containing a seditious editorial entitled ‘Tribalism,’ promoting feelings of ill-will or hostility between different sections of the population” and failing to file returns for the magazine.
