Unidentified assailants gunned down broadcast reporter
Noriega in San Juan Pueblo, 215 miles (350 kilometers) north of the
capital,
as he was leaving the offices of Estelar Radio at around 5 p.m., police
spokesman César Wilfredo Ardón told CPJ.
Noriega was shot multiple times, Ardón said, and died en
route to a local hospital.
The journalist reported on general news, according to local
press reports. Police had no immediate suspects but were considering journalism
as a possible motive, Ardón said.
