Muzaffar Suleymanov, research associate for CPJ’s Europe and Central Asia Program, has a master’s degree in international peace studies from the U.N. University for Peace in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Carlos Lauría, CPJ’s program director and senior program coordinator for the Americas, is a widely published journalist. A native of Buenos Aires, he has written extensively for Noticias, the leading Spanish-language newsmagazine. Follow him on Facebook @ CPJ en Español.

Lauren Wolfe is the director of Women Under Siege, a project on sexualized violence and conflict at the Women’s Media Center. While CPJ’s senior editor, she wrote the CPJ report, “The Silencing Crime: Sexual Violence and Journalists.” Previously, she was a researcher on two New York Times books on the 9/11 attacks.

Robert Mahoney is CPJ’s deputy executive director. He writes and speaks on press freedom, and has led CPJ missions to global hot spots from Iraq to Sri Lanka. He worked as a reporter, bureau chief and editor for Reuters around the world. Follow him on Twitter @RobertMMahoney.

Sheila Coronel, a CPJ board member, is the Toni Stabile Professor of Professional Practice in Investigative Journalism at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She began her reporting career in her native Philippines in 1982. Coronel is the author and editor of more than a dozen books.

Karen Phillips is interim research associate in CPJ’s Americas program. A former associate in CPJ’s Journalists Assistance program, she is the author of the CPJ special report, “A Somali Journalist in Exile.”

Meredith Greene Megaw, a former ABC New producer, served as CPJ’s communications director 2008-10.

Kamel Labidi is a freelance journalist and former CPJ representative and consultant for the Middle East and North Africa region. Labidi returned from exile to Tunisia in 2011 to head the National Commission to Reform Information and Communication.
