The four Palestinian journalists were convicted of having worked for the Iraqi occupation newspaper Al-Nida and sentenced by the State Security Court to 10 years in prison. The court also fined them KD 2000 each and ordered that they be expelled from the country upon termination of their sentences. Al-Qarneh was formerly deputy chief editor at the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), and al-Khalili was formerly an editor at KUNA.
