Radio Mwangaza, a community station in the northern Congolese city of Kisangani, resumed broadcasting on January 14, three days after it was shuttered by local court officials.

While the officials cited a dispute over alleged non-payment of music royalties, local press freedom groups said they believed the station, which was set up with French and Canadian support, was targeted for its critical programming.
