An Istanbul court on August 20 lifted the foreign travel ban on Meşale Tolu, a translator and editor for the leftist Etkin News Agency (ETHA), the daily Cumhuriyet reported.

Tolu’s trial is scheduled to continue on October 16; she is charged with “being a member of a [terrorist] organization” and “making propaganda for a [terrorist] organization,” according to the Cumhuriyet article.

Turkish authorities detained Tolu, a Turkish-German dual national, in April 2017 and released her to be tried without arrest in December 2017, the Turkish service of Deutsche Welle reported at the time.
