Dorantes editor of the weekly El Crucero, published in Cuernavaca, Morelos, was shot and killed by unknown assailants. A known critic of local government officials, Dorantes was the first of three journalists mysteriously murdered in the state of Morelos within a six-week period. No one was arrested for Dorantes' murder.
