Vilnius, October 18, 2019 – Russian authorities should stop harassing media outlets and reporters, and allow the press to freely cover opposition political groups, the Committee to Protect Journalists said today.

Beirut, October 7, 2019 — Iraqi authorities should immediately investigate the recent attacks against four broadcasters in Baghdad and hold those responsible to account, the Committee to Protect Journalists said today.

Amsterdam, September 30, 2019 — Guatemalan authorities should refrain from conducting raids on news outlets and allow the Xyaab’ Tzuultaq’a radio station to report freely, the Committee to Protect Journalists said today.

Sudanese authorities detained Sadiq al-Rizaigi, the editor-in-chief of privately owned newspaper Al-Sayha and head of the Sudanese Journalists’ Union, on July 24, 2019, according to AFP and Sudanese broadcaster Radio Dabanga. He was held without charge until he was released on July 29, according to the Sudan Tribune and the Sudanese Journalists’ Union.

Beirut, July 2, 2019 — Iraqi authorities should investigate the armed raid against the Baghdad offices of Al-Journal and 7C TV and determine if the perpetrators were acting on behalf of a member of parliament, the Committee to Protect Journalists said today.
