CPJ is proud to support the inaugural exhibition this weekend of the Bronx Documentary Center, featuring work by acclaimed photojournalist Tim Hetherington, who was killed in an explosion in Libya in April.
The BDC is a nonprofit gallery and educational space for photography, film and new media from around the world, and it began as a conversation between Hetherington and his friend and colleague Michael Kamber. The two wanted to open a space “focused not on wealthy collectors, but on disseminating photojournalism and multimedia to the youth and residents of New York City,” Kamber writes in the New York Times‘s Lens blog. “Visions: Tim Hetherington” will run from Oct. 22 to Dec. 2. The BDC is located at 614 Courtlandt Ave. For more information, contact the center at [email protected].
