Newspaper attacked

Unidentified assailants hurled a percussion grenade at the premises of the daily newspaper Mogi News in the city of Mogi das Cruzes, state of São Paulo. No injuries or damage were reported.

Around 1:30 a.m. the attackers threw the grenade from a moving vehicle, the Mogi News reported. The police said that the GL 304 grenade is and old device used to disperse crowds.

The newspaper has been strongly criticizing the public transportation system in the city and believes the attack could have been an attempt to intimidate the media outlet, according to local news reports. Local police are investigating the incident.
