IMPRISONED

Security officials of Somalia’s transitional federal government released Adam and Atosh after nearly 10 days of detention, according to local media reports. Abubakar was released on October 28.

The journalists were arrested on their return to Baidoa from Burhakaba, the scene of fighting between transitional government forces and the Islamic Courts Union. They were questioned about their activities and the content of their recordings in Burhakaba, they told a local journalist. None of the journalists was charged.
