TV reporter, camera man assaulted

ISLAMABAD: Nazim Jamia Faridia along with some armed students of the seminary on Saturday tortured the reporting team of a TV channel for coverage of the Jamia.
The reporter Waseem Ahmed Qadri nad his cameraman Bilal Mughal came to Jamia Faridia to take their stance regarding detention of an alleged terrorist who reportedly hailed from Jamia Faridia as disclosed by Islamabad IG Syed Kalim Imam during a press conference.
When they approached the Jamia they were assaulted and tortured by the armed men deployed at its main-gate. They were also held hostage in a room of the Jamia for some time.
Later at the intervention of some individuals in the Jamia, the armed men released the media persons and passed killing threats and chased them as far as their office.
The TV channel has reported the matter to the Kohsar Police Station against this maltreatment, on which the police have filed a case against the armed men and the nazim. -The National Report
