New York, December 16, 2020– The Committee to Protect Journalists will release its annual report on journalists killed in relation to their work on December 22, 2020.
CPJ’s report will feature a comprehensive database of journalists who were killed in 2020, alongside an analysis of this year’s data.
CPJ released its annual report on journalists imprisoned globally on December 15, 2020, documenting a record high of 274 behind bars, and the fifth consecutive year with at least 250 journalists in prison. CPJ has also been documenting press freedom violations related to COVID-19 this year, with more than 200 incidents as of November 18.
