Panel Discussion: Journalism in The Trump Era

As the nation marks the first year of the Donald Trump administration, the Newseum and the Committee to Protect Journalists present a program examining the state of press freedom in the United States. The program will review the trends from the first year of the U.S. Press Freedom Tracker, a new nonpartisan website dedicated to documenting press freedom violations across the United States. All year, the tracker has been documenting abuses of journalists including arrests, equipment searches and seizures, physical attacks and border stops. In addition, CPJ executive director Joel Simon will give a brief overview of trends from the press freedom tracker.
