Carlos Lauria, CPJ’s Program Director and Senior Americas Program Coordinator, will participate in the 158 extraordinary period of sessions of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights in Santiago, Chile, from June 6 to 10.
The hearings will take place June 7, 8 and 9 at the former headquarters of the Chilean National Congress in Santiago. Carlos will participate in the Freedom of Expression and Criminal Defamation Laws in South America hearing, along with representatives from the Ecuadoran press freedom group Fundamedios and from Instituto Prensa y Sociedad (IPYS).
