Kamber Inan

Inan, a reporter for the far-left weekly magazine Kurtulus, was arrested in his home in Istanbul and charged under Article 168/2 of the Penal Code for his alleged membership in the Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C). Court documents from his trial obtained from Inan’s lawyer said that Inan had refused to answer questions during his detention. He was convicted and sentenced to 15 years in prison and confined to Bayrampasa Prison. According to Inan’s lawyer, Inan is believed to have been released. CPJ is continuing its investigation to confirm the journalist’s release.
