Cruz Díaz, a correspondent for El Heraldo in the department of
Córdoba and a member of the Colombian Academy of History, was stabbed
to death in Chinu by unknown assailants. He was working on a book about
the military’s role in Córdoba, where the Colombian government has been
battling leftist insurgents.
