CPJ Central America Correspondent Dánae Vílchez is a Nicaraguan multimedia journalist whose work has appeared in The Washington Post, Newsweek, and Pikara Magazine, among others. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Amsterdam and has been a fellow with the International Center for Journalists and the International Women’s Media Foundation.
