On February 15, CPJ launched Attacks on the Press in 2010. The California-based newspaper Mercury News ran a story about the report. The article focuses on how threats against journalists and restrictions on press freedoms are increasing throughout Latin America, especially in Venezuela under President Hugo Chavez.
