Bio
Mike O'Connor began reporting overseas in 1983 as the CBS News correspondent covering the wars in El Salvador and Nicaragua. He later covered Central America for NPR and the New York Times, and for the Times covered the series of wars and the hopelessness in the former Yugoslavia as that country disintegrated. He then covered the Palestinian territories and Israel for NPR. He has been the Mexico representative for the Committee to Protect Journalists since 2009.
