Simbizi, director of the French radio section of the state-run National Radio and Television of Burundi, was stabbed to death by soldiers of unknown affiliation in the Gasenyi district of Bujumbura. Simbizi was part of the moderate Hutu movement.Motive Unconfirmed: CPJ is investigating to determine whether the death was work-related.
