Ladja, a correspondent for the weekly Prensa Zamboanga, was shot dead in Zamboanga City while attending a friend's birthday party. Ladja had covered the Mindanao secessionist movement, but the motive for the killing remains unknown.Motive Unconfirmed: CPJ is investigating to determine whether the death was work-related.
