Kaplan, a producer for ABC News, was shot and killed by a sniper as he was riding in a car that was part of a convoy taking Serbian premier Milan Panic from Sarajevo airport to United Nations headquarters along a road known as "Sniper Alley." The bullet entered the car between the letters "T" and "V" taped on its side.
