Saberi release is moment for joy, concern

New York, May 11, 2009--The Committee to Protect Journalists has issued the following statement in response to reports that freelance journalist Roxana Saberi, who had been imprisoned in Iran, has been released this morning:

"We are thrilled that Roxana Saberi has been released from prison and look forward to welcoming her home," said Joel Simon, CPJ executive director. "But this is also a moment to reflect on the difficult conditions that Iranian journalists endure every day. Several Iranian journalists remain jailed today. We urge they be given the same opportunity for judicial review that was afforded to Roxana Saberi."

At least five journalists were imprisoned in Iran when CPJ conducted its annual census on December 1, 2008.

Congratulations to all journalists whoes defend Roxana Saberi rights and
her father who managed this crisis with patience.
But this conflict to be continue for all iranian observers, reporters.after
Roxana departing iran and recovery she should describe her situations
during inquiring/interrogation and and disclose pressure for forged
confessions that we knew and iran gov deny .sometime we lose ourselves
confidence when gov strongly express to own rightfulness.

2 weeks ago iran foreign ministry spockman Hassan Qashqavi said:"if we
show and publish our evidenc about her spying,WEST would go to tremble and
shock.something like Earthquake."

Bluff, exaggeration are most important factors of their shamful play.
Our questions is remain:why gov avoid to announce the details?
espionage accusation is very heavy. how could the apeal trial break the
primary sentence which contain 8 years imprisonment and change it to 2
years suspensive entailment?

2 trial,2sentences which completly contradictory.when we ask,they
reply:"each court in iran is independent."

well, finaly we figure out and learn exact meaning of independence.
we have a long list of iran gov attitud and style for
punishment, suppression of journalists in the name of islam.

Presidental election in iran is coming up.now we have new and hot space
with increasing limitations for journalists and we are concern for foreign
reporters whose will come to iran.

Future I will offer some key recommend to wstern reporter whose cover our
election.
If they want to visit and report so welcome but they must know how to
play
