A news crew from the privately owned Tolo TV was beaten by unidentified gunmen while filing a report on a demonstration against Member of Parliament Abdorrab Rasul Sayyaf in Paghman district of Kabul Province, according to the director of the television station.

Reporter Rahmani, cameraman Ahmad, and their driver were stopped and beaten by a group of armed men on their way to the police headquarters to get official comments, Rahmani told local media. He said the assailants confiscated their camera after the beating.

According to local media reports, this was the second day of demonstrations by Paghman residents against Sayyaf. More than 400 residents staged the demonstration to protest his alleged land grabbing.

Yusof Stanizai, spokesman of the Interior Ministry, told the TV station that they have launched an investigation into the incident.
