Journalist convicted of defamation paroled


Sow, managing editor of the Dakar-based private newspaper L’Office, had been jailed on June 29.

He was convicted of criminal defamation and sentenced to six months in prison on February 10. An arrest warrant was issued in February but was not carried out until June.
